Boots on the ground and all hands on deck is the order of the day. Awareness is the first step in the Resistance. – Author’s Synopsis
For some time now I have made a special effort to drink only water that I have collected and hauled from a high country spring, and I have no plans to quit anytime soon. It is some distance from my house and it takes a bit of time out of an otherwise busy day, and it would be so much easier to turn on the municipal tap or crack a cap of bottled water.
Is it worth the trouble, you might ask?
Well, yes it is, as a matter of fact, and in more ways than you might guess, would be my answer…
Drawn deep from a primordial source, this water is wild and whole and tastes of mountain and ancient sunlight. It flows steady and true and offers a host of special properties quite hard to define. It is alive, and it feels good just to be around it. In fact, it is all about how it makes you feel, this living water…
It is not something I wish to take for granted. It is a sobering fact…
I don’t know what truly happened on the day that our President…my President, was shot and killed on November 22, 1963. I was only five years old at the time, and at the moment before his death I don’t believe I had any knowledge of a man called John F. Kennedy.
That awareness changed quickly as the news reached out over the car radio and my mother swung to the side of the road and cried. With heavy heart I remember it as clearly as it was yesterday.
The light may never shine upon the full complement of dark forces that came together on that day of fifty years ago. I may never discover who was really behind the assassination nor the ultimate reasons behind it. I only know that the official story is a fabrication and a farce which continues to be perpetuated by a state-run media which wishes to keep me baffled, distracted, and demoralized.
I don’t need to have all of the facts in possession to know that I have been lied to. The story is so patently untrue that my instincts would never let me believe such blatant propaganda.
But I cannot deny the long-lasting effects of such an “in your face” open air execution. Like a bullet with malicious intent, It has colored my world and altered the trajectory of my life, and yours, in so many ways that we can never recapture.
The assassination of JFK and the ongoing coverup is the ultimate example of fantastic fairy tales and manufactured public denial. It is the four hundred pound gorilla in a room full of plotting politicians and warmongers incessantly manipulating the long arm of the out of control police state.
I don’t know if the general public can ever fully shake the apathy and ignorance so skillfully induced and directed. But I do have hope.
The truth is out there.
It is time to shake off our collective stupor; to absorb and embrace the most unpleasant reality and let the chips fall where they may. Things may get worse before they get better, but things must change. The only way to arrive at the truth is to first strip away all that is false. To do otherwise will only continue to fuel our debilitating personal weariness and shame and the national collective guilt from which we may never heal.
It starts with you, and with me. I am ready to face the truth – today – and perhaps that is enough – for now.
“The very word ‘secrecy’ is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths, and to secret proceedings”. – John F. Kennedy
You can say what you want to about lists and the scribblings of best laid plans. They are, after all, what you make of them, but one way or the other they are extremely important tools of the prepping lifestyle. Ranks and scoreboards, on the other hand, are another entirely different kind of animal and we are not great fans of such compilations.
With that being said, we have just learned that we have been included on a special kind of list to us, and to many of you. Much to our surprise we find ourselves ranked in the top 35 of The Best Prepper Websites.
We would not be honest if we didn’t note that it is extremely rewarding to be recognized for our long hours at the keyboard when there are so many other pressing tasks at hand, and it does our prepper’s soul some good to be included among such dedicated and knowledgeable bloggers.
I don’t know why or how exactly we became to be known as “Prepper’s”, but apparently, “we is one”. I only know that somehow, some way, we seem to fit neatly and unceremoniously into such an untidy and relatively new category.
Like so many of you, we are a combination of many things which reflect our special skills and interests. We are hunter’s and fishermen, gardener’s and canner’s, homebrewer’s and husbandman. We love what we do within the rural lifestyle that sustains us, and we wish to share what we know and learn all that we can from others of like mind.
We reject many of the so-called modern-day values on the shallow and destructive face of them, finding more entertainment in the shenanigans of a chipmunk than we ever will in the video violence of the day. We have never been good at following, and we have done our best to avoid the suffering hordes. The only herds we wish to join are of the goats in the back lot, or the bugling elk on the nearby slopes.
We cannot help but observe that the major societal systems are broken; “Big Government” and “Big Food” and big, centralized anything is a beckoning bridge to nowhere, and we are doomed as planetary inhabitants if we do not return to honor some form of common sense and high moral values.
It would seem that a sad majority of people have now lost the steadying connection with all things real and are incapable of feeling the very ground beneath their uncomfortable shoes, and anything of the natural world is but some type of inconvenient truth. Yet through it all, the land and the mother of us all – waits.
If anything, our message to the uninitiated is that it’s time to get real folks, very real. You may not agree, but I can assure you that the future unpleasantness of unstoppable world events will no doubt see to that anyway, like it or not. It might be best to get a good jump on things in the “ready or not” department.
Still, the hour grows late. I am but one small, struggling voice, and I, like you, can only help mitigate in some small way the overwhelming feeling that something bad this way comes. Focused we are, and we shall do our part before the gathering storm.
Call us what you may, but we have only tried to live a life of sanity and sustainability upon a breathtaking blue ball hurtling with god’s speed through a mystical and limitless universe.
One thing we know to be true.
We wish to survive, as is nature’s way and the purpose of all living things. But it’s not about survival in our way of thinking. It’s about life. There is abundance, in us and through us – and everywhere – just take a good look around!
The world will not mind if we find miraculous joy in the simple things, and in so doing manage to thrive along the way. In that, we are natural-born prepper’s, and we wish to perpetuate that way of being as easily as a fox squirrel gathers and stores a bumper crop of autumn acorns.
Is there really any other way?
*As it happens, our ranking continues to climb, and we are now come in at number 25. Your support is much appreciated!
Recently, scientists have been stunned to discover what is most likely a new species of venomous, giant tarantula in a remote corner of northern Sri Lanka. It has caused quite a buzz.
Apparently, this gentleman is not slow and lumbering like most others of its kind, but lightning fast and extremely potent. It belongs to the genus of “tiger spiders”, and prefers to dwell in the trees and branches of old growth forests. It is distinctly colored and as wide as a person’s head. A quick tap from one of these guy’s is generally a “medically significant” event, at best.
It is rare to find such an imposing creature at the edges of our probing awareness, yet they were crawling about the canopy all along. It is thought that they have been on the move and hence more visible as they have become increasingly disturbed and displaced due to habitat loss. It must be quite unsettling to walk through such a forest, knowing what lies above. If at home EZ Bed Bug Exterminator NYC is at your guard.
Similarly agitated, American gun owners have been shaken from their drugged-up stupor of denial, only to find a small army of government agents and enemy sympathizers eagerly marching to take their weapons. It is not a dream, and the approaching forces of gun grabbers will not melt back into obscurity without a fight.
New animal species are discovered all the time. Tyrants and the enablers of authority, on the other hand, are nothing new. They have been lurking around since the beginnings of mankind, always watching and waiting and dying to strike. The venom drips ominously from their fangs, and they can feel the death-blow coming.
Well, not so fast, I say to those so eager to disarm us. Do not mistake our measured restraint for weakness, for our patience is wearing thin at the edges.
We pray that you will come to your senses and cease your diabolical advance, though we know that you can no more change your course than a leopard can change it’s spots.
Have no doubts that we see you quite clearly now, as your intentions are plainly obvious and no longer hidden in the shadows. We have felt you coming for centuries, and we are much more prepared than you know. If it is battle that you truly want, then you shall have it
I, like many, are terrified of even the tiniest of spiders. I know that my disproportionate fear of them is largely ungrounded, but that does not put down my overwhelming urge to panic and run at every sighting. You might think that an encounter with such an elegant horror as a giant tarantula would leave me paralyzed and huddled on the floor.
But not today.
Today I am God’s own tarantula tree, immovable and as resolute as any mountain.
Infringe upon my inalienable right to keep and bear arms, and you will conjure up an entirely different beast. I am an elemental force to be reckoned with, as are others so compelled to stand behind a line drawn so simply, yet so boldly, in the sand.
It is time to rip the suffocating arms of tyranny from our upturned faces. The hour is late. We must hold off the hovering monsters from the dark realms, and beat them back to the slithering viper pits and vaporous jungles from which they came.
Give me liberty or give me death (Patrick Henry), and give me a handgun to reach out and touch those who wish to offer me the latter.
Like our friend the tarantula, we can deliver a most powerful wallop when provoked.
